The frigidaire washer e11 code on a front-load model means one simple thing: the washer started a cycle but did not fill with water fast enough in the time the control allows. Because the fault is about water getting in, the cause is almost always on the supply side rather than inside the machine, which is good news for a quick fix.
Before assuming the washer is broken, work through the water path from the wall to the tub. Nine times out of ten the E11 clears at one of these checks.
What the frigidaire washer e11 code is telling you
During fill, the washer watches the water level rise. If it does not reach the expected level within the allotted fill time, the control posts E11 (some displays group it with E10 or E13 for water-fill) and pauses the cycle so it does not run dry. The trigger is slow or no water flow, which points at the taps, the hoses, the screens, or, less often, the inlet valve.
First checks you can do
- Confirm both hot and cold supply faucets behind the washer are fully open.
- Check household water pressure by running a nearby tap; very low pressure can starve the fill.
- Pull the washer out and look for kinks or sharp bends in the inlet hoses.
- Turn off the taps, unthread the inlet hoses at the valve, and clean the small mesh inlet screens, which catch sediment and slow the fill.
- In cold weather, make sure the hoses or supply are not partially frozen.
After each fix, restore the water, run a short cycle, and see whether E11 returns. To clear a stored code, you can also power the washer off at the breaker for a minute and restart. Our full Frigidaire washer error-code guides list the related fill and drain codes side by side.
When the inlet valve is the fault
If the faucets are open, the pressure is good, the hoses are clear, and the screens are clean but E11 keeps returning, the water inlet valve is the likely culprit. The valve uses solenoids to open and close the water flow, and a failed solenoid or a clogged valve body will not let enough water through. Testing and replacing the valve is a hands-on repair best left to a technician with a meter and a genuine OEM part.
Do not confuse E11 with E13
E11 is about water not coming in fast enough. The nearby E13 code is the opposite kind of problem, a tub or air-bell leak, and points at the door boot, the air-dome hose, or the pressure-sensor hose. If you see E13 rather than E11, or water on the floor, treat it as a leak and have it diagnosed. You can also browse current units on our Frigidaire washer models pages if yours is aging.
