What we fix on Frigidaire ranges.

/01

F10 temperature runaway (safety-critical)

An F10 means the oven exceeded its maximum safe temperature, usually from a shorted oven sensor or a stuck relay on the control. This is safety-critical: disconnect power at the breaker immediately and do not use the range until it is repaired. The RTD sensor and the control relay are tested before either is replaced.

/02

F30 / F31 oven sensor (RTD) fault

An F30 means the oven temperature sensor circuit reads open and an F31 means it reads shorted, so baking runs hot, cold, or not at all. A disconnected or failed RTD sensor (about 1080 to 1100 ohms at room temperature) or broken wiring; the sensor is tested against spec and is a DIY-friendly part.

/03

F1 / F11 keypad or control fault

An F1 or F11 means a key reads stuck or the electronic oven control (EOC) has faulted, leaving the panel unresponsive. The touchpad ribbon is reseated and the keypad tested before the EOC is replaced, since a stuck key can mimic a failed board.

/04

F12 / F13 control memory error

An F12 (microprocessor identification) or F13 (EEPROM checksum) flags corruption in the control memory. The EOC and its connections are tested before the board is replaced with a genuine OEM part, as a loose harness can present the same way.

/05

F90 / F91 / F92 oven-door latch fault

An F90, F91, or F92 means the self-clean door latch did not unlock in time or exceeded its unlock attempts. The latch motor, its switch, and the control output are tested so the door locks and releases safely after a Steam Clean or Self-Clean cycle.

/06

F40 / F41 cooktop lockout

An F40 or F41 means the cooktop control lock has engaged or faulted, so the surface elements will not respond. The lock is cleared first since it is often turned on by accident; if it returns, the control and wiring are tested.

/07

Surface element will not heat

A radiant smoothtop element on an FFEF or GCRE range will not heat or stays on full. A failed radiant element, an infinite switch, or a burned element receptacle; the element and switch are tested, and the glass surface checked for cracks, since radiant cooktops do not report a code.

/08

Gas burner will not ignite / clicking

On an FFGF or FCRG gas range a sealed burner clicks but will not light, or keeps clicking after lighting. Moisture under the cap needs to dry, otherwise a clogged burner port, a weak igniter, or the spark module; gas burners carry no error code, so this is diagnosed by symptom.

These are the most common issues — not an exhaustive list. Our technicians diagnose and repair any Frigidaire range problem, including intermittent faults, unusual symptoms, and issues not listed here.

About Frigidaire range repair

Common Frigidaire range problems

Reliable frigidaire range repair starts with the way these cookers are made — an electric FFEF or FCRE, a gas FFGF or FCRG, an induction GCRI, or a Gallery GCRE or Professional PCFG — each pairing a cooktop with a self-cleaning oven. The oven control reports genuine F-codes on the electronic oven control (EOC): F1x for control faults, F3x for the oven temperature probe, and F9x for the door-latch motor. The most important is F10, a temperature runaway that is safety-critical — disconnect power and do not use the range until it is repaired. The gas cooktop is a different story: a sealed burner has no error code, so a burner that will not ignite or keeps clicking is read by symptom, as is a radiant smoothtop element that will not heat. Quick Boil, Even Baking Technology, Air Fry, True Convection, and the Steam Clean and Self-Clean options keep these ranges cooking, but elements, RTD sensors, igniters, relays, and latch motors still wear over time.

Frigidaire Range Repair — Frigidaire appliance repair

Our Frigidaire range repair process

As an independent, third-party service our experienced technicians begin every Frigidaire range repair by confirming the exact model and fuel type, because an electric FFEF, a gas FFGF, and an induction GCRI each fail differently. On the oven they read any code before testing the named part — the RTD oven sensor against spec on an F30 or F31, the keypad and EOC on an F1 or F11, the control memory on an F12 or F13, and the door-latch motor on an F90, F91, or F92. An F10 is treated as the safety hazard it is: the range is taken out of service and the shorted sensor or stuck relay found before power is restored. On the gas cooktop, which has no display, a burner that will not light is traced through the igniter, the burner port, and the spark module. We fit genuine OEM parts from trusted parts suppliers, and every visit is backed by a 30-day labor warranty on the workmanship. Most repairs finish in a single trip, and you can book a range repair online at any time, with a clear quote before work begins and a total that depends on the diagnosis — never a fixed price sight unseen.

Frigidaire range models we service

We service the Frigidaire range lineup across every fuel type at the 30-inch size. Electric models include the FFEF3054TS, FCRE3052AS, the Gallery GCRE3060AF with Air Fry, and the discontinued FGEF3036TF; gas models include the FFGF3054TS, FCRG3052AS, FGGF3036TF, the Gallery GCRG3060AF, and the Professional PCFG3078AF; and induction models include the Gallery GCRI3058AF and the Professional PCFI3080AF. We also handle discontinued families as parts-only repair-lookup work. These ranges carry Quick Boil, Even Baking Technology, SpaceWise expandable elements on electric tops, sealed burners on gas builds, Air Fry and True Convection on Gallery and Professional, the Keep-Warm zone, Steam Clean and Self-Clean, and a Store-More drawer. The oven uses the F-code set, while every gas burner is diagnosed by symptom. Our model directory lists the elements, igniters, spark modules, RTD sensors, relays, latch motors, and control boards matched to each build so the correct genuine OEM part is sourced the first time. If your Frigidaire cooker is a built-in wall oven with no cooktop, see our oven repair page instead.

Error codes and diagnostics

A Frigidaire range is diagnosed on two fronts. The oven reports F-codes on the EOC: F1 and F11 (stuck key or control), F12 and F13 (control memory), F30 and F31 (open or shorted RTD sensor), F40 and F41 (cooktop lockout), and F90, F91, and F92 (door-latch motor). The exception is F10, a temperature runaway: this is safety-critical, so disconnect power at the breaker immediately and do not use the oven until the shorted sensor or stuck relay is repaired. To clear a transient fault the breaker is switched off for five minutes; if the code recurs the named part is tested. Frigidaire uses these single-letter F-codes, not another brand’s F-then-E format, and the gas cooktop burners have no code at all. Look up what each one means on our range error-code guides.

Service areas

Our specialist technicians cover all 50 states and the District of Columbia plus 40-plus metro areas, with a standard 24-48 hour response and same-day visits where availability allows. A Frigidaire range that pairs a smoothtop, sealed-gas, or induction cooktop with a self-cleaning oven deserves a technician who treats both halves with the same care — and who respects an F10 runaway as the safety issue it is. Every visit is handled by a skilled technician who carries the diagnostic tools and the genuine OEM parts most likely needed, so the fault is identified and, wherever possible, fixed on the first trip. Full specifications and the current range lineup are published by the manufacturer at frigidaire.com.
