How a Frigidaire washer reports a fault
A Frigidaire front-load washer reports two-character “E” fault codes on its display, and top-load models flash a similar two-part pattern in diagnostic mode. A fill, drain, door-lock, motor or control fault each has its own code, while load conditions such as excess suds are flagged separately so they are not mistaken for a part failure.
The codes you will see
E11 means the fill took too long — a closed valve, a kinked hose or a failed inlet valve — and E13 points at a tub or air-bell leak. E21 is a slow or partial drain from a clogged pump filter, a kinked drain hose or a failed pump. E41 means the door switch reads open, while E42 and E47 are door-lock assembly faults that need a technician. E55, E57 and E59 are motor, inverter and tachometer faults. EF1 reminds you to clean the drain-pump filter and EF2 flags excess suds from too much detergent.
What to check, and when to call
For EF1 or EF2, clean the drain-pump filter, reduce the detergent and use the high-efficiency type. Clean that same filter for an E21 and check the supply valves for an E11. A recurring door-lock (E42, E47), motor or inverter (E55, E57, E59) or leak (E13) code needs an experienced, independent technician with the correct genuine OEM part.
