The Frigidaire model number is printed on a rating label, a small plate or sticker that sits in a different spot on each kind of appliance, and the exact spot differs by model, so the owner’s manual is the final word. On a dryer it is usually on the frame inside the door opening, on a refrigerator it is usually inside the fresh food section along the side wall or behind the crisper drawers, and on a range or wall oven it is usually on the frame inside the oven door or the storage drawer opening. The label also carries the serial number, and those two numbers together tell a technician exactly which version of the appliance you own.
Where is the model number on a Frigidaire dryer?
For a Frigidaire dryer, open the door and look at the frame around the opening, on the metal edge that the door closes against. The label is usually there, and it is the quickest to find because you do not need to move the machine. Read it with a flashlight if the laundry room is dark, and take a photo with your phone so you have the model number when you are away from the dryer. The same label is where a technician reads the model and serial number when you book a dryer visit, and it matters because parts differ between generations of the same-looking machine.
If you are checking a dryer because of a fault, our Frigidaire dryer error codes glossary and the dryer installation guide both assume you know whether you own an electric or a gas model, and the model number answers that too.
Where is the serial number on a Frigidaire refrigerator or freezer?
Open the fresh food door and look at the inside walls. On a refrigerator the label is usually on the left wall of the fresh food compartment or behind the crisper drawers, and you may need to slide a drawer out to see it. A freezer is less predictable: look for the serial number label on the back of the cabinet or inside it, and on an upright, check the frame inside the door as well. A manufacturing date, when the label carries one, sits next to the model number and is worth photographing too.
Photograph the label and keep it with your purchase papers. When you order a gasket, a shelf or a water filter, the model number is the reliable key, not a photo of the old part. See our Frigidaire refrigerator not cooling guide for what to do first if the unit is warm.
Where is the model number on a Frigidaire range, oven or cooktop?
For a freestanding range or a wall oven, open the oven door and look at the frame inside the opening, or open the storage drawer at the bottom and look at the frame around it. The label is usually on one of those two spots. A cooktop is different: the label may be on the underside, and getting at it means lifting out a unit that is wired to household voltage. Do not take a cooktop out of the counter just to read a label: check the original paperwork, the owner’s manual or a photo taken at installation, and call us if none of them exist.

What about dishwashers and washers?
We do not want to guess on these two. The label is in a different spot on different Frigidaire dishwashers and washers, and the exact location differs by model, so check the owner’s manual for the rating label location. Look for a plate or sticker with a model and a serial number, usually on an edge you can see with the door or lid open. Never remove a service panel to find it: the label is meant to be read without tools, and if you cannot find it in a minute, tell us the appliance type and we will walk through where to look.
Once you have it, our Frigidaire dishwasher installation guide and the washer maintenance guide help you check that the model matches what you expect.
What is the difference between a model number and a serial number?
The model number names the design: which Frigidaire appliance this is, in which configuration. It is the number you give when you look up a manual, a part or a filter. The serial number names your individual unit, and it carries the manufacturing information. We do not decode the serial number here, because we have no source on this site that we can verify for the date format, and a wrong guess about an appliance’s age can send you toward the wrong repair-or-replace decision. If you need the age, look for a manufacturing date printed on the label near the model number, or ask the manufacturer to confirm it.
How do you use the model number when you book a repair?
Have both numbers ready, typed or photographed, before you call or fill in the form. With the model number, a technician can look up the right parts and the code list for that exact machine before arriving, which helps a visit end in one trip rather than two. You can see the models we service in the Frigidaire model directory, and our Frigidaire dryer repair, washer repair and dishwasher repair pages describe how a visit works for each appliance.
