Frigidaire ice maker model families
Frigidaire markets ice makers in two real forms, plus the automatic icemaker built into a refrigerator. Portable EFIC countertop units include the EFIC108, EFIC117, EFIC123 and EFIC189 bullet makers, the EFIC201, EFIC235 and EFIC237 nugget makers and the EFIC452 clear-cube maker; the built-in FGIC3600 is a 15-inch undercounter unit. The EFIC countertop units are Frigidaire-licensed products made by Curtis International.
What the technology means for service
Portable EFIC units make bullet, nugget or clear-cube ice with a small reservoir, a self-clean cycle on some models and Add-Water and Ice-Full indicator lights, while the FGIC3600 undercounter unit adds a 25 lb storage bin, a reversible door and a front vent. The automatic icemaker built into a refrigerator is a different module, serviced as part of refrigeration work and identified by the host refrigerator’s model number. Identifying a portable EFIC, the FGIC3600 or an in-fridge module tells a technician which inlet valve, fill tube, harvest motor, pump or water filter a repair involves.
Reading the model and servicing it
A portable unit carries its model on the base or the rear; the FGIC3600 plate is inside the door; an in-fridge module takes the host refrigerator’s model string. Record the full number before booking. Our experienced, independent technicians service every Frigidaire ice maker with genuine OEM parts matched to the build, and because these units carry no fault codes, note the symptom and your model number when you book ice maker repair — repairs start from $89, or from $129 depending on the part, with the final cost depending on parts. Our labor is guaranteed.
