Reading a Frigidaire model number
Frigidaire model numbers look cryptic, but once you can read the prefix you can identify the appliance, its configuration and the parts a repair will need. The leading letters mark the line — FF for the standard Frigidaire range (FFID dishwashers, FFTR refrigerators, FFEF ranges, FFRE dryers, FFTW washers, FFFU freezers), FG, GR and GC for the Gallery line (FGID, GRFS, GCRE, GCWS), PR and PC for the Professional line (PRMC, PCWS, PCFG), and EFIC for portable ice makers. A trailing finish code usually closes the string (W=white, B=black, S or SS=stainless, AF or AS=smudge-proof stainless, V=stainless-look). Laundry and refrigeration families
Washers read by load type: top-load FFTW and FLVW (FFTW4120SW, FFTW1001PW, FLVW7523BW) and front-load FFFW (FFFW5000QW, FFFW5100PW) plus Gallery GLTF (GLTF1670AS). Dryers read by fuel: electric FFRE (FFRE4120SW, FFRE1001PW) and gas FFRG (FFRG4120SW, FFRG1001PW), with FLVE and FLVG on the newer platform.
