- Grip the cylindrical filter and turn it about a quarter turn counter-clockwise, then lift it straight out.
- Lift out the flat fine filter or glass trap underneath it.
- Rinse both parts under warm running water, using a soft brush or old toothbrush to clear food, grease, and any glass or labels from the mesh. Avoid wire brushes, which can damage the mesh.
- Wipe out the sump opening and clear any debris around the drain.
- Drop the fine filter back in flat, set the cylindrical filter into place, and turn it clockwise until it locks. A filter that is not locked can rattle or let food past.
That is the whole job. If you ever feel resistance seating the filter, lift it and try again rather than forcing it, since a cross-threaded filter will not seal.
