TL;DR: EvenDry, MaxBoost Dry and Effortless Dry are drying names, OrbitClean and BladeSpray are spray arms, SpacePro is a third rack and DishSense senses soil. Which name your dishwasher carries depends on the model tier.

Frigidaire EvenDry and the other dishwasher feature names describe what a model has, not how it behaves, and several of them sound alike. EvenDry and MaxBoost Dry are drying systems, OrbitClean is a spray arm, SpacePro is a third rack, DishSense is a soil-sensing feature, and PrecisionPro, AquaSurge and BladeSpray are wash-system or arm names that appear on specific models. This glossary sorts them by what you will notice in the kitchen and links each term to the model that carries it on our site.

What does Frigidaire EvenDry mean on a dishwasher?

EvenDry is the name of the drying system on the Professional FPID2498SF and the Gallery FGIP2468UF. It is a label for how the machine finishes a cycle, not a separate heater you can switch on. If the dishes on the top rack feel damp at the end, the cause lives in the cycle you chose, the rinse aid level and the load, not in the name of the feature. Our Frigidaire dishwasher not drying guide goes through those checks in order, and the same checks apply whichever drying name your model carries.

How is MaxBoost Dry different?

MaxBoost Dry is the drying label on the Gallery GDPP4517AF and GDPH4515AF. Frigidaire gave the same job a different name on different tiers: the Professional models say EvenDry, the Gallery models say MaxBoost Dry, and the older FGCD2444SA says Effortless Dry. For a repair this changes nothing about the order of checks. Whichever name is printed on the control panel, a dishwasher that finishes wet is looked at the same way.

Which spray arm names should I know?

Three names show up in model lists. OrbitClean is the spray arm that moves around the bottom of the tub; Dual OrbitClean, on the GDPP4517AF, uses two arms. BladeSpray Arm is the earlier arm design on the discontinued FGCD2444SA. Our OrbitClean spray arm guide explains how the arm works and why it stalls. AquaSurge, on the older FGIP2468UF, is the name given to that model’s wash system.

PrecisionPro Wash Zones appears alongside OrbitClean on the FPID2498SF. It is a model-level feature name, so treat it as a description of how that Professional machine aims water rather than as a part you can order separately.

What are SpacePro and Store-More racks?

SpacePro is the third rack on the FPID2498SF, a shallow tray above the upper basket that holds utensils and flat items. A third rack, without the SpacePro name, is also listed on the Gallery GDPH4515AF. Store-More is the adjustable rack on older models such as the FGCD2444SA. The practical effect for service is loading: a tall item on the lower rack can block the rotation of a spray arm or the opening of the detergent door, and a third rack that is overloaded can keep the upper arm from spinning.

What does DishSense do?

DishSense is the soil-sensing feature. It reads how dirty the wash water is and lengthens or shortens the cycle to match. That is why one program can run forty minutes one evening and ninety the next, and why people mistake a longer sensed cycle for a stuck one. If you want a predictable timing, pick a timed cycle instead of an auto-sensing one. A cycle that runs far longer than usual every time may signal a sensor or heating issue instead; a technician can check whether the cycle is waiting on water temperature.

What do the error codes in the glossary mean?

The same model pages that name these features also list the i-codes the dishwasher can show. According to those pages, i20 and i40 flag a drain or fill restriction, and iF0 is the same condition by another label; i30 flags a float or leak trip; iC0 is a control communication problem; and UO is the vent code. We keep a longer reference in our Frigidaire dishwasher error codes guide. For a model that is acting up, Frigidaire dishwasher repair pairs the code with the feature set of your exact model.

Which terms are parts and which are only names?

The distinction saves money when you order. A spray arm, a rack and a filter are physical parts with part numbers that depend on your model and serial number. A drying name such as EvenDry or MaxBoost Dry is a description of a system built from several parts working together: the vent, the heating path, the rinse aid dosing and the cycle logic. You cannot buy “MaxBoost” as a component. When you describe a problem to a technician, say what the dishwasher does, such as wet plastics, a spray arm that no longer turns, or a cycle that stalls, and give the model number so the right assembly is matched.

Wash-system names behave the same way. AquaSurge, BladeSpray Arm, Dual OrbitClean and PrecisionPro Wash Zones tell you how a given model was marketed. They do not change what the dishwasher needs from you: a clean filter, a clear drain path, a water supply that is fully open and a load that leaves the arms free to turn.

Here is a quick lookup of what the site lists for each model. The Professional FPID2498SF carries OrbitClean, PrecisionPro Wash Zones, EvenDry and a SpacePro third rack at 47 dBA. The Gallery GDPP4517AF carries Dual OrbitClean and MaxBoost Dry at 49 dBA. The Gallery GDPH4515AF adds a third rack and a 34-Minute Quick Wash at 52 dBA. The discontinued FGCD2444SA used the BladeSpray Arm and Effortless Dry, and the discontinued FGIP2468UF used Dual OrbitClean, EvenDry and AquaSurge.

Frequently asked questions
What is EvenDry on a Frigidaire dishwasher?
EvenDry is the name of the drying system on certain Professional and older Gallery models. It describes how the machine finishes a cycle. It is not a separate button, and the usual drying checks apply: rinse aid, cycle choice and load placement.
Is MaxBoost Dry the same as EvenDry?
They do the same job under different names on different model tiers. MaxBoost Dry appears on the Gallery GDPP4517AF and GDPH4515AF, while EvenDry appears on the Professional FPID2498SF.
Why does my Frigidaire dishwasher cycle time change?
If your model has DishSense, it adjusts the cycle to the soil in the wash water, so a heavy load can run much longer than a light one. A timed cycle gives a steady runtime.
Where do I find my model number?
It is printed on a label at the edge of the door or inside the tub. Give it to us when you book a visit so the right parts are matched.
